Support for families

Education, coaching and community for the family you are actually running.

Families arrive here for different reasons, and most of them arrive with more than one.

Some want to parent differently than they were parented. Some are running on empty and have been for years. Some have a child the standard advice was never written for, and have already tried the standard advice. Plenty are carrying two of those at once, in the same week, with the same amount of sleep.

We don't expect parents to "just be consistent" or "stay calm" without understanding the invisible barriers they carry. Many are working to offer their children something they never received themselves, and that work can feel overwhelming, isolating, and emotionally complex. So we offer more than education. We offer accompaniment.

The family strands

Cycle-breaking

Inherited patterns, and what it takes to interrupt one while you are still living inside it. This is where R.E.P.A.I.R. sits.

The framework →

Parent burnout

Recovery work aimed at the load rather than at your attitude to it. Depletion is a condition with causes, and the causes are usually structural.

Neurodivergent children

Where requests themselves are the difficulty, including the PDA profile. A different account from the one on the rest of this page.

Autonomy & PDA →

Partnership

Two people can both be doing the work and still end up on opposite sides of the kitchen. What that costs, and what helps.

Where to start

Groups, coaching, workbooks and community, some of it open now and some of it a few weeks away. They are all in one place so you can see the whole shape of it before deciding what fits the room you have.

If the asking is the problem

Much of what is on this page assumes a child who can be brought along by connection and a steadier adult beside them. In some houses that is not what is happening. A bath that was wanted five minutes ago stops being wanted the moment somebody suggests it. A chore chart comes off the fridge in March and never goes back up.

That is a different account, and it has its own page.

Letters for parents

Occasional letters on autonomy, burnout, and what actually helps at home.

Not a weekly digest and not a drip sequence. Something goes out when there is something worth saying: a piece of writing, a group opening, a shift in how the work is being thought about.

Written for the parent doing the work, not about them.

Sent by email. You can leave the list whenever you like, and nothing else goes out without your say-so.

Not ready to give an email address? The writing is on Substack too, free to read and open to anyone. Read the Substack →
